💻 Meet the team — Lea, UX Strategist
Speaking of new adventures, meet our new Savasian, Lea! Her previous experience has already proven to be a great addition to our team, and we can't wait to see what else she is capable of.
"With my move to Savas, I’m excited to dive deeper and become more confident in the strategy side of experience design. A huge reason I chose to work at Savas was the work culture, so I’m also looking forward to getting to know my coworkers in a smaller, more collaborative setting across all the various disciplines involved in making Savas the company that it is.”
🦉 Hoot take - Accessibility Audit
In today's society, the internet is considered the most efficient and effective resource known to humans for accomplishing day-to-day tasks. However, with 25% of adults in the U.S. having some disability and only 3% of website home pages being fully accessible, it can be incredibly difficult to access information and resources. At Savas Labs, we want to help you prioritize website accessibility in 2023. With our introductory accessibility audits, we take a quick, exploratory pass through your site to help you understand its current compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). Once our audit is complete, we'll provide you with a detailed report on what works and what doesn't, along with recommendations for improvements.
Newly established in 2022, Yonderlust is a family-owned business founded in Durham, North Carolina. The company has two primary focuses: an outdoor gear and apparel shop with a brick-and-mortar location in Durham paired with an e-commerce site, both set to launch in the Spring of 2023, and a mobile app featuring curated self-guided adventures.
Yonderlust's founder, Kit Linton approached us with the goal of designing and building both the e-commerce site and the mobile app. As an avid outdoorsman, Kit had begun documenting several recommended adventures from his personal experience, complete with detailed itineraries, points of interest, and enticing photos. He saw a need for a more personalized and curated experience – especially for families – compared to the overly crowd-sourced existing offerings. With this depth of quality content and a detailed vision for what this app could be, Kit partnered with Savas to bring his vision to life.

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something.” Neil Gaiman
