Over the last few years, the work environment has changed drastically. Employees have gotten more selective about where they want to work, and organizations have been forced to adapt accordingly. So what does a more team-focused environment mean for these organizations?
At Savas Labs, we believe that success starts from within. We’ve worked hard to create an environment that fosters employee feedback and honesty, and we are always willing to analyze our business processes to find areas for improvement. This culture has helped us build stronger relationships with our clients and continually produce impactful and innovative work we are proud of.
Our hope is that this edition of The Perch inspires you to take a moment to look inside your organization and ask yourself where opportunities for growth lie. Don’t worry, we have a few ideas for you…
💪 Featured Work — New York Cares
We had the privilege of working with New York Cares [NYC] to help them build out a subsection of their website. The result was a progressively decoupled team portal that seamlessly blends content managed in Drupal with real-time data pulled in from Salesforce. This portal gives the volunteer team leaders easy access to information for all of the projects they’re leading. In addition, the volunteers can now efficiently communicate in real-time with NYC staff about project attendance, impact, and other success factors. Learn more about the work we did in the case study linked below.

📣 Client shoutout - C4ADS
Shout out to one of our clients - The Center for Advanced Defense Studies (C4ADS). C4ADS is a nonprofit organization that aims to defeat the illicit networks that threaten global peace and security. They focus on the underlying threats to global security: the illicit networks that operate across borders to destabilize communities, prevent development, and devastate the environment.
We worked with the C4ADS to design and develop a new website for their organization. The new site showcases their impact, different analytical portfolios, publications, news & updates, and a more robust and informative “About Us” section.
As we continue to grow, it’s important to us that we expand our leadership team to keep our internal team strong. Adding these new team members will help us uncover different ways of thinking and introduce new ideas.
“I am most excited by the opportunity to apply all the various skills that I've learned over my career in an organization that is growing with teams that are excited to take on the challenges that come with that growth. ”
"Growing and scaling a team of designers so that we can create innovative solutions for our clients. I find so much fulfillment in passing along all of the things I’ve learned over the course of my career to other designers and creators. There is also so much talent these days that oftentimes the teacher becomes the student, which is the best part of being on a collaborative creative team.”
🦉 Hoot Take —
Custom applications are becoming increasingly prevalent, to the point where they are completely revolutionizing how businesses operate. However, finding the right digital partner to bring your custom application to life can be overwhelming. This got our team thinking about how we could help educate people on the steps of the custom application development process and what are the best practices to follow. Not only did this help us look at our internal processes, but we hope it helps those looking to implement their own custom applications.
