At Savas, we believe that fostering team building is crucial, even as a remote company. While we encourage collaboration and communication through various channels (mostly slack), we’ve discovered that hands-on, interactive experiences are among the most effective ways to achieve this. It’s a big reason we have two all company retreats and make the time to have ad hoc gatherings of our teams.
We recently had a few members of the BizDev team gather together in Raleigh to work through process improvements, work alongside one another, and take part in a few outings (we’re pretty good at trivia). These 3D hangouts help break down barriers and build trust among team members, leading to a more cohesive and dynamic work environment.
This month we spotlight teamwork, growth, and development. You'll find updates on our new hires, recent project launches, and best practices for building a strong, cohesive team.

We're thrilled to announce the 🚀 launch of our latest project with the Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) Oil & Gas Watch! Oilandgaswatch.org is a data-rich tool to monitor the impact of oil, gas, and petrochemical expansion. Starting with a critical need for enhancements and a design overhaul, our collaboration aimed to bolster their database capabilities and refine data models including enhanced filtering options. The Oil & Gas Watch tool is now more intuitive, visually appealing, and capable of handling complex datasets, making it a valuable resource for all its users.
Special client shoutout to the team at Global Teaching Partners (GTP). GTP specializes in recruiting, placing, and supporting K-12 ACE teachers in the U.S., fostering cross-cultural engagement and nurturing global citizenship among students.
We kicked off our partnership with GTP this past quarter in a series of in-person meetings at our Raleigh office. We’re working with their team to overhaul their digital presence, and we're excited about what we’re creating together!
