Fostering meaningful relationships in a remote environment can sometimes feel like an uphill battle, but we've been hard at work finding ways to strengthen the bond between our design and development departments.
Fostering relationships, particularly in a remote environment, can often feel like an uphill battle. It requires an intricate dance of learning about each other's work styles, understanding the nuances of communication, and being open to continuous improvement. Over the last couple of months, we've been pouring energy into brainstorming innovative ways to strengthen the invaluable relationships between our design and development departments. While the journey hasn't been without its hurdles, the progress we've made and the results we've seen are undeniably worth it. In this month's newsletter, we dive into the world of cross-department synergy, showcasing the remarkable work that can be accomplished when we work together.
đź’Ş Featured work - Attain Data
When Attain Data found themselves grappling with the technical limitations of a lightweight CMS, they knew they needed to transition to a more robust solution while remaining within constraints (time, budget). Recognizing their needs, we collaborated closely with the Attain team, establishing design elements that were in sync with their vision. From there, our designers and developers joined forces to employ a flexible component system to fast-track the development process. This not only expedited the creation of the new site but also empowered Attain's content editors to craft branded pages quickly. As a result, we delivered a bespoke WordPress site promptly, enabling Attain Data to extend their online presence and support their evolving needs and aspirations.
This month’s shoutout goes to our client, SmartLabs! SmartLabs was established amidst the changing modalities in 2015, during a time when pharmaceutical companies were outsourcing R&D more frequently due to rapidly evolving scientific advancements. Observing these trends, SmartLabs recognized the existing approach to scientific support wouldn’t work in the future. This prompted them to envision more efficient and effective methods of scientific research, harnessing data and new technologies to serve the needs of future scientists. As a result, they created an innovative infrastructure, offering teams flexible and tailor-made lab spaces that can be readily set up within weeks and dynamically adjust to their evolving scientific pursuits. Stay tuned for more updates about our exciting work with Smart Labs!
We are excited to announce the launch of our new Labs™ project: The Next F1 Race. This all began as Drew, our super-passionate Senior UI/UX Designer and a major Formula 1 enthusiast, found inspiration in a promotional card highlighting the 2023 race schedule. Wanting to present the schedule in a different way, he created individual graphics featuring the location and track layout for each upcoming race and shared them during a Labs™ meeting. That's when Lemon, our ever-talented Lead Front-end Developer, saw an opportunity to take Drew’s idea one step further. Lemon began drumming up different animations to compliment Drew's designs, thinking about how they could bring this concept to life. Working hand-in-hand, they built a dynamic single-page site, capturing Drew's original vision while embodying the collaborative spirit we love to see and celebrate within our Labs™ space.
Effective communication is a vital skill for project managers, aiding in aligning strategies and goals for project success. At Savas, we use tools to centralize communication to foster trust, eliminate ambiguity, and ensure satisfaction in each project undertaken.
Remote creative collaboration has become increasingly common in the marketing and advertising industry. According to a recent report, the shift towards hybrid work, combining remote and in-person work, has increased from 49% to 65%, while fully office-based work is now at 16%. To stay competitive, companies must learn to embrace remote work collaboration strategies, as they lead to increased efficiency, productivity, and team engagement.
Website building has evolved from rigid hard-coded templates to flexible platforms such as Drupal and WordPress that allow quick content management and publishing. In this article, our Design Director, Ian, discusses the benefits of a component-based system.
